“The Omniscient Reader” Set to Release in July

Starring Blackpink’s Kim Ji Soo, Lee Min Ho, Chae Soo Bin, Nana, Shin Seung Ho, and Ahn Hyo Seop, action film The Omniscient Reader is set to release in July 2025. The highly anticipated movie had a budget of 30 billion won, making it the highest-budgeted film in South Korea this year so far. The production team released its first posters and trailers.

Adapted from the popular South Korean web novel, The Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, the fantasy action follows the life of Kim Dokja, who is a reader of the novel Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World. As he finishes reading the novel’s final chapter, reality and the novel’s fictional world begin to merge. As the happenings of the novel replicate in the real world, Kim Dokja becomes the only person who knows how the world would end. Determined to create an alternate ending, Kim Dokja solves and conquers various challenges in hopes of rewriting the ending. The story is a mix of action, adventure, and fantasy, which combines various fantasy elements such as mythology, astrology, and literature.
