Tong Liya and Chen Sicheng Reportedly Divorced

Chinese media is reporting that actress Tong Liya (佟丽娅) and actor-director Chen Sicheng (陈思诚) have quietly divorced, ending nearly 6 years of marriage.

The actors met through Chen’s directorial debut Beijing Love Story <北京爱情故事>, which was released in 2014. They got married in January 2014 and have one son “Duo Duo”, born in January 2016. Chen is now perhaps best known for his Detective Chinatown <唐人街探案> film series, which has grossed nearly US$700 million in the box office. The third film will be release on January 25th.

In 2017, it was reported that Tong and Chen’s marriage turned rocky after a rumor of Chen’s infidelity started circulating. The Chinese media then reported that the couple decided to separate, but for the sake of their child, they moved into the same neighborhood in Beijing. A few days ago, a netizen leaked on social media that the couple have already signed a divorce agreement, but has yet to sign official papers.
