Tracy Chu Tries to Save Money on Wedding

Artiste Tracy Chu (朱千雪) has been busying preparing for her wedding after she announced her engagement to her long-time childhood friend and boyfriend of five years, Justin Ng (吳昆倫), an interventional radiology doctor, in late June. Known to be frugal, Tracy decided against a luxurious wedding in Hong Kong, and will just hold a simple wedding at a hotel in Bali this month. Keeping the wedding small, only close friends and relatives are invited to attend. Of course, Tracy’s good sisters Jennifer Shum (岑杏賢), Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯), and Angel Chiang (蔣家旻) will be there to witness the momentous occassion.

The bride-to-be carefully arranged accommodations for her friends and relatives, but she was very thrifty when it came to herself. Not only are her wedding dresses not from famous brands, but she also did not arrange for professional hair and makeup to be done. As a means of saving money, Tracy only asked Jennifer to help out with the photography. It is said that Tracy is ready to introduce her fiancé’s doctor friends to Jennifer.

However, when it comes to dowry, Tracy’s father is not holding back. He reportedly already prepared a million dollars worth of dowry and property for his daughter. Mommy Chu also accompanied Tracy to look at dowry.

But perhaps their greatest gift to Tracy was bringing Justin and Tracy together when they were still fetuses. The engaged couple met while inside of their moms’ bellies when their moms checked into the same hospital room and gave birth to them three days apart. The families kept in touch over the years and often celebrated Tracy’s and Justin’s birthdays together. Eventually, the pair was old enough to become friends on their own and blossomed their relationship.
