Trans Woman Becomes Social Media Influencer After Losing Beauty Pageant

Thai beauty influencer Kittamuk Pinnarong, better known as Kitty, became a popular sensation after sharing a photo at Thailand’s army draft.

In Thailand, mandatory military conscriptions are held every year in April. Men over 21 who are not already conscripted have to either volunteer to serve for six months, or participate in a lottery. Receiving a red card indicates that they must serve for two years, while a black card means they are exempt from military service. Trans women—women who are assigned male at birth—are not exempt from the lottery, and they must participate in the drafting.

Kitty was no exception. After receiving a black card, Kitty shared the news on her social media, catching the attention of the country.

After shooting to fame, Kitty auditioned for the 2017 Miss Tiffany’s Universe Pageant, a beauty pageant for Thai transgender women. She lost to Rinrada Thurapan, but she had gained enough social media attention to become an Internet influencer. She has since started her own beauty company, and became a makeup instructor. Being born male has not affected her fanbase at all, and her popularity has earned her a few endorsement deals. Many fans are speculating that Kitty may soon debut in the entertainment industry.

While uncommon in the Thai entertainment industry, trans women have found success as celebrities, including Treechada Petcharat (Poyd), who shot to fame in the Greater China entertainment industry following her appearance in the Hong Kong film The White Storm <掃毒>.

  1. woah, she is HOT. i would feel very concerned for her if she had to join the army. given there are so many horny men there, they will not be able to take their hands off of her.

  2. I’m sure it will cost lots lots of money to become a trans woman so I wonder where does these males get all those money? Is Thailand that rich? Or they must came from a rich family?

From the little that I know, hormone drugs are fairly inexpensive. Many boys begin taking them at a young age. The sex-change surgeries are partially covered by the Thai government as well. With that said, it’s common for many ladyboys to work in the sex industry in Thailand to cover other surgical expenses and whatnot.

      1. @anon wow never knew that no wonder they can afford it to became a trans woman. I guess these days it’s hard to tell whether they’re males or females.
