TVB’s 2013 Sales Presentation to Air on November 24
On November 8, over one hundred TVB artists and other Hong Kong stars walked the red carpet for TVB’s 2013 Sales Presentation event, an annual event to attract sponsors and advertisers for the company’s productions in the following year. Like previous years, the sales presentation event became a battlefield for the Best Actor and Actress hopefuls, and judging from yesterday night’s atmosphere, it seems that Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) has the best chance for winning Best Actor again!
In a stage performance that featured this year’s Miss Hong Kong candidates, the women faced Wayne Lai and cried, “In the end, the TV King will still be yours!” Wayne laughed and said, “I want to! I have many strong opponents this year. I heard that this year’s system is one vote per person. This will be my last minute ‘campaign’ – please vote for me!”
Wayne also joked about his strong opponents, Raymond Lam (林峯) and Moses Chan (陳豪), “Raymond Lam has turned from Asia’s Chok King to the Chok King of the century! As for Moses Chan, his current and only mission is to take care of his future with Aimee Chan (陳茵媺)!”
Upon realizing that Wayne Lai has been actively recruiting sponsors to support himself for TV King, Raymond laughed, “Now I need to campaign even harder! I have been working overseas recently, so I haven’t the time to stay in Hong Kong. I have already told my fans to vote for me. There have been many great dramas that were released this year; everyone has a chance at winning!”
Samantha Ko Attracts Most Male Fans
It was an extravagant and glamorous night. Numerous female artists dressed sexily to attract the advertisers, and among the most popular female star of the night was Samantha Ko (高海寧), who was dressed in a tight-fitting golden dress that flaunted her voluptuous figure. Samantha revealed that her dress was made in Europe and that she was wearing over $2 million HKD in jewelry. Asked if she felt overwhelmed by the amount of people who asked for her autograph and photo, Samantha smiled, “No! They were all very nice!”
Alice Chan (陳煒) also did not disappoint in her first appearance at the grand TVB event, and appeared in a red, low-cut peplum dress. The married Alice is not worried about revealing too much skin, and said, “Someone told me to dress sexily, so this is what I did!”
TV Queen hopeful, Kate Tsui (徐子珊), dressed rather conservatively compared to other actresses. Wearing a double-strapped red dress, Kate said, “I want to leave a bit of the sexiness for the Anniversary Awards. There are a lot of people tonight… I think what I’m wearing now is fine. My manager helped me find the jewelry sponsorship.” Kate’s competitor for the TV Queen title, Tavia Yeung (楊怡), wore a low-cut pale dress that stressed her “career line”. Asked if Kate felt that she “lost,” she smiled, “Well, I haven’t seen Tavia tonight yet.”
Other stars that attracted the most attention from advertisers were Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), and Bosco Wong (黃宗澤).
2013 TVB Dramas
Over 20 video clips of TVB’s upcoming 2013 local and overseas dramas were presented before the advertisers. Among the more popular trailers were The Hippocratic Crush 2, A Great Way to Care 2, A Good Heart Goes Haywire, and Rosy Business 3.
Luisa Maria Leitao’s (黎芷珊) well-received talk show, Telling Maria, will also be getting a second season, and the trailer feature clips of her interviewing Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文), Tang Wei (湯唯), and Sandra Ng (吳君如) were showcased.

The Love Firm <傳愛事務所>

There are actually quite a few series that I’m looking forward to next year but the one that I’m not one bit interested in is “The Two Cities of Unrequited Love “. Boring storyline…*yawn* and the cast is not the greatest either.

FYI, my Chinese is very good. I went to Chinese school for 10+ years and I have better pronunciation than Eliza. secondly, what does the audience’s language level got to do with this? she’s the actress, it’s her responsibilty to improve on her language skills so the audience can watch her. not the audience lowering their standards for her.

I’m not hating on Eliza. I want to see her be successful like Linda since they’re from Canada too. but I don’t think she’s ready for lead roles yet. def need to improve Chinese first. like someone else commented she’s ok for a newbie but to be lead, gotta have the whole package
I totally agree with what gold4canada said as we’re all fellow Canadians and support other Canadian actresses but one cannot expect to take on lead roles without first taking on more supporting roles to gain more experience.

Excuse me? Cantonese is my mother tongue and I grew up speaking it and hearing it as a child and can even read as well even though I am a ‘chook sing’. No polishing required there and my hearing is perfectly fine. If you can’t stand constructive criticism directed at your goddess, then you are definitely not her true fan but one that is just blindly following her.

I oontinue to be amused by HK audience’s narrow-mindeness over the canto ability of some of their actors/actresses while saying nothing about the lack of command on mandarin Chinese of most most of them even when they’re working mostly in Mainland.
Watching some of them speak in interview and variety show situations when everything was live without dubbing was torturous.

Hk dramas seem to be getting worse and worse and it seems like they’ve ran out of actors, using the same people all the time and really wish they could get some real acting instead of just a pretty face

Eliza looks like the girl playing in playful kiss Korean series. Her canto is fine for a newbie but she needs to do more dramas for improvement. She is rising so fast, maybe a fa Dan? I’m not a fan but she does have potential just not lead material now

actually, i’ll definitely tune in to the Bobby/Esther drama, but only to watch them…the drama from that single line gives bad premonitions…like Maiden’s Vow. Man, I hope not.
