TVXQ’s Max Changmin Keeps Wedding Under Wraps
South Korean idol group TVXQ‘s Max Changmin finally tied the knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend of almost one year on October 25. The wedding was originally scheduled for September 5, but the couple postponed it due to the resurgence of COVID-19 cases. While many people looked forward to seeing his wedding photos, not a single picture of the bride and groom was leaked. Although it was disappointing, it’s non-surprising since Max has always been very low-profile about his relationship and lover’s identity from the beginning.
Knowing that a celebrity’s romantic life is always under media scrutiny, Max took the necessary measures to ensure his wife and family would be protected. Aside from a planned private ceremony, a real-name-based admission system was implemented to verify every single guest. All guests were required to provide their identification card as well as scan a QR code to enter the event. With such tight security, netizens teasingly said the wedding was at a national security level. But regardless of any comments, it is apparent that Max strongly cares for the safety of his loved ones.
Those in attendance included Max’s good friends: Girls Generation‘s Yuri, Taeyeon, and Yoona. Yuri posted a photo of the outdoor wedding ceremony, giving fans a rare glimpse of what Max’s big day looked like. In the picture, she stood next to Taeyeon and Yoona with their backs facing the camera. They all had their hair in matching buns and sported face masks and light jackets. Yuri donned houndstooth-patterned outerwear while Taeyeon wore a plain, dark coat, and Yoona had on a classic plaid blazer. The ladies were gathered at an outdoor lawn with the other guests to send their blessings to the newlyweds.
Netizens speculated that Super Junior‘s Leeteuk also attended Max’s wedding as he uploaded a selfie of himself sporting a gray suit in front of a mirror. Considering his friendship with Max, it would not be surprising if Leeteuk was also there to celebrate the couple’s union.
