Venus Wong Calls Brian Chu a “Boring” Costar
Finally taking on his first lead role after 12 years in the industry, Brian Chu (朱敏瀚) will be partnering with Venus Wong (王敏奕) in Virtual Lover <虛擬情人>. Working together for the first time, Venus calls Brian a “boring” costar.
In the drama, Brian plays an AI robot created by Venus to be her virtual lover. Although this is his first leading role, Brian does not feel too stressed and praises Venus for being hard working and professional. “We’ve been filming for 10 days, and everything is going really smoothly. I was eating dinner with the Your Highness <痞子殿下> cast yesterday and they are jealous that I have such a great costar.”
Venus laughed and said they both have similar personalities and are quite boring. “When we’re on set, we’re always talking about acting. He’s just like me, and doesn’t know how to communicate with people!”
Single since breaking up with Stitch Yu (余思霆) in August, Brian was asked if it is hard to meet romantic partners due to his boring personality. Brian shyly replied that he does not have any time this year. “I’ll just go with the flow. It’s not like once you decide that you’re ready to date, there will be a girl waiting. My only requirement is that we can’t affect each other’s work, which needs to come first.”
Since Venus is TVB General Manager Eric Tsang’s (曾志偉) daughter-in-law, most actors behave cautiously during filming of intimate scenes. Venus joked, “I’ve already filmed much more daring scenes in Happily Ever After? <婚後事>. This drama is much tamer.” She added that she never has to “report” to her husband Derek Tsang (曾國祥) before filming such scenes.
