Vivien Yeo Gives Birth to a Baby Girl
Secretly getting married last year, actress Vivien Yeo (楊秀惠) has been on unofficial hiatus and has been residing in Malaysia due to the COVID-19 outbreak. While many thought she was just staying in her home country to avoid contracting the virus, Vivien was actually expecting the arrival of her baby. Today, the 35-year-old actress announced on social media that she has given birth to a six-pound girl.
Choosing to have the baby via Cesarean delivery, Vivien revealed that the baby’s name bears the same initials as her own, VY.
Expressing that she received the best gift a mother can get for the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday, Vivien is grateful for the safe arrival of her daughter despite the current pandemic. She wrote, “Due to the virus and quarantine situation in Malaysia, the overall process for the baby was not easy. There were so many variables and last-minute changes along the way. Luckily, my daughter arrived safely and healthily. I really want to thank the doctors and nurses in Malaysia for taking good care of me. I hope the medical workers around the world will have success in finding a solution to the virus soon.”
When Vivien’s marital status was discovered last October, she shared that her husband does not work in the entertainment industry and kept all details of her wedding private. She stated that she intends to continue her acting career.
