“Warriors of Future” Opens in China, Daniel Wu Books Theaters to Show Support
Wearing multiple hats as producer and lead actor, Louis Koo‘s (古天樂) ambitious sci-fi film Warriors of Future <明日戰記> has raked in 1 billion RMB at the box office on its opening day in China.
Celebrity Friends Show Their Support
Many friends of the actor have voiced support by sharing about the film on social media, and actor Daniel Wu (吳彥) who is currently based in the US went a step further by booking theaters to treat fans to the multi-million-dollar film!
The 47-year-old congratulated Louis on his film premier on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, where he wrote, “Louis’ film has officially opened. We’ve seen his persistence in filmmaking all along, it is really cool to spend many years simply to fulfill a dream!” From today on, he’s my armored male god!” Daniel also embedded a link where fans could obtain free tickets to catch the movie.
The duo have collaborated on numerous films over the years such as Protege <門徒>, crime thriller franchise Overheard <竊聽風雲> and romcom Don’t Go Breaking My Heart <單身男女>. Settled in the US where he has been focused on in recent years, Daniel has scored parts in HBO series Westworld, and states on his Instagram profile that he acts, produces and “hope(s) to direct more”.
Distributed by Louis’ company One Cool Pictures, filming for Warriors of Future wrapped five years ago but faced multiple delays and is finally set for an August 25th release in Hong Kong.

I hope this means we’re getting a theatrical release in North America. Pains me to say but it seems they announce theatrical release in North America at the very last minute.
