Wayne Lai and Kristal Tin Support Each Other For TV King and Queen
TVB artistes Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) and Kristal Tin (田蕊妮) both attended the station’s 48th Anniversary Series Press Conference. Kristal is the female lead in Under the Veil <無雙譜>, while Wayne is the male lead in two anniversary series this year – Under the Veil and Lord of Shanghai <梟雄>. For this reason, he is said to bear high chances of winning TV King for the fourth time.
However, Wayne is unsure the quantity of his dramas serves as a benefit. He exclaimed, “What’s the good in having two of my dramas released? The votes will be dispersed!” Meanwhile, Kristal expressed she will definitely cast Wayne a vote, “I watched the trailer for Lord of Shanghai, and his eye expression was very captivating!”
Wayne also did not refrain from praising Kristal. He expressed, “Your acting in Under the Veil was really good as well! You portrayed two characters on your own!” Despite looking forward for the release of the drama, Kristal laughed and revealed that she thought she was becoming schizophrenic during filming. When Kristal was asked if she has confidence in winning TV Queen, Wayne quickly interrupted and referred to her sexy off-shoulder dress, “She’ll stand out, just like what she’s wearing today!”
Kristal expressed, “I do have confidence, but I’m ready for both a win or lose. I’ll see what happens on the day of!” In Under the Veil, she portrays a woman dressed up as a male. Kristal jokingly exclaimed, “If I get nominated for TV King, I’d win Wayne for sure!” Wayne laughed and agreed with Kristal’s remark, “The viewership ratings must also be super high! It’ll be a miracle!”
Anthony Wong (黃秋生), who is Wayne’s costar in Lord of Shanghai, is rumored to be on bad terms with Kristal. When Wayne asked if Kristal will vote for Anthony, she replied awkwardly, “I’ll vote him for something else!”

Wayne Lai doesn’t age as well as other tvb artists his age. But he continually dress hipsters in an effort to try and look young. Unfortunately, he just looks weird because he looks too old for that.
@mike Wayne was never handsome looking in the first place. So I’m not surprise he didn’t “age hot” lol. To me, he didn’t have the star/celeb look. He made it up with his acting though.
Slight correction: In Under the Veil, Kristal actually plays 2 different characters – one male and one female (not a female dressed up as a male)….one character is the older brother and the other is the younger sister. That’s why Wayne and Kristal were joking during the program that Kristal should actually be nominated in both TV King and TV Queen categories….
LOL…they’re still harping on Anthony Wong and Chapman To’s supposed discord? That’s old news already (plus the two of them already resolved their differences and even worked together on a movie).
I highly doubt that Wayne is going to win again this year. If Anthony Wong is in the running (of course depends on how TVB does the nominations, since there were artists shut out in past years that shouldn’t have been and others included that shouldn’t have been), my guess is that it will probably be him. To be honest, I’m actually interested in seeing the nominations list more than anything else, since I’m curious to see what type of bonehead “inclusions” and “exclusions” the TVB nominating committee makes this year in certain categories.
@llwy12 I predict Anthony will at least get nomination, top 10 even. He won’t win though. I’m not excited about this year’s list. No one has really stand out IMO.
@jjwong I can’t even remember the last time I was ‘excited’ over the anniversary awards….in fact, it’s opposite for me – every year I care less and less. In recent years, the category that I usually still pay attention to and root for is Best Supporting Actor, but this year, even that category isn’t worth bothering with. Looks like the only motivation to watch this year will be for the award presenters….
@llwy12 ha, touche. The talents and worthy of an award dwindle year after year. TVB is really in a dump this year. I’m not feeling or liking any series or character at all this whole year. Let’s give them a bene7of the doubt since there are still 4 anni haven’t aired yet. *fingers cross*
It is getting easier and easier to get TV King and TV Queen awards as there are so few decent artistes left in TVB now. Perhaps Grace Chan can even get TV Queen award this year!
@orchid123 not imposible since grace is heavenly promoted by tvb,and you know when tvb management want to promote someone they can make some world records for you in no time.
