Wayne Lai Doesn’t Understand Why He Still Has To Do Action Scenes At His Age
Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Gabriel Harrison (海俊傑), Raymond Cho (曹永廉), and Rita Carpio (韋綺姍) were guest performers for the upcoming 2020 Community Chest Charity Show <萬眾同心公益金>, an annual televised charity event held every summer. The four will be performing a few classic songs, and while Wayne said he originally did not want to sing, he decided to do it after he was told about the song. “I’ve sang it before, so it’s helped with my confidence,” he said.
Speaking about his upcoming TVB action drama Death by Zero <殺手>, which premieres June 29, Wayne shared, “I’m looking forward to it! I pretty much fought every single actor who can fight on the show. Production lasted from summer to winter. It was an unforgettable experience. I still remember bending down to tie my shoes, and I was sweating like a water hose.”
Gabriel is currently filming Armed Reaction 2020 <陀槍師姐2020>, a spin-off sequel of the original police series. Playing a senior policeman, the 47-year-old has a very action-packed role. While he lamented about the injuries he’s sustained through the weeks, he expressed understanding that action scenes would come with injuries.
Wayne, who is already 56 years old, laughed and said, “I tried so hard, but I still don’t understand. Why are they casting us in those dramas? Younger actors should be in charge of doing them! People our age can just play the role of a coach or something!”

Haha at Wayne. Poor guy. They should put him in more comedies. I love him in comedies. Usually low action.
