William Feng Denies Cheating, Will Take Legal Action Against Further Rumors

William Feng (冯绍峰) and Zanilia Zhao (赵丽颖) easily became the the top most-discussed celebrities of 2018 following their marriage announcement in October 2018. In March 2019, they welcomed their first child, a son, which William announce on Weibo.

The couple appeared almost untouchable, until a recent message exchange between a social media user and her friend got posted online, leading netizens to believe that William may have cheated on his famous wife.

The chat was an exchange between a Weibo user known as “Plimoly” and her friend, both from Chengdu. In the chat, Plimoly confessed to her friend that she had just started a relationship with a married man. Plimoly said the man was unhappy with his marriage and felt trapped. She added that “fsf [gave her a] very valuable gift” and confided to her friend about her relationship concerns, saying that she doesn’t trust him. “Although he told me that I was his only one, I don’t believe him.”

Netizens believed that “fsf” was referring to William, whose Chinese name is Feng Shaofeng. Plimoly’s friend referred to the man’s wife as “Zhao Liyin” (赵丽音), which is similar to Zanilia’s Chinese name Zhao Liying.

When the chats were leaked, Plimoly immediately clarified on Weibo that “fsf” was referring to “fa shun feng” (发顺丰), which means express delivery.

Netizens, however, aren’t buying the excuse. William started to receive many hate comments on his social media, prompting the actor to seek legal attention.

Through his personal agency iFeng Studio, William announced that will pursue legal attention if unfounded cheating rumors continue circulate, while also claiming that the original message screenshots were photoshopped.

Despite the warming, many netizens still find the interaction suspicious, and noted that William had at one point unfollowed Zanilia on Weibo, before following her again.
