On September 13, 2024, Wu Jingyan (吳謹言) surprised fans when she uploaded and shared her marriage registration photo with actor Hong Yao (洪堯) on social media. Meeting while filming the highly successful and popular palace drama Story of Yanxi Palace (延禧攻略), the couple has secretly been dating for seven years before tying the knot.

Since the couple kept their relationship under wraps, the marriage announcement came as a surprise and netizens deduced the 34-year-old actress is likely pregnant. Despite mounting assumptions about her pregnancy, neither party responded to the rumors.

Wu Jingyan appeared in front of cameras for the first time recently since sharing the news of her marriage. At an event to promote her drama Kill Me Love Me <春花焰>, she wore all-black and showed off her long, slim legs but appeared visibly bloated. Although the loose fabric around her waist was perhaps intended to hide her bump, certain postures and angles revealed her rounded belly.
