Asked about his new identity as a stage actor, the 29-year-old shared, “It’s quite stressful. As [A Dream is a Dream] is a renowned Chinese production, there is no room for error. In one of the scenes, there are 16 exits and entry points which I have to remember clearly. I also had to gel my performance with elements of the plot and lighting to ensure everything runs without a glitch–it requires a high level of concentration!”
Humbly turning down the praise he has received from his performance, Xiao Zhan said, “There is still room for improvement,” and called the stage “a magical place.” Summing up his stage experience, he said that no two performances are alike as the feeling of each scene is different.
