Yang Mi Invests in New Coming-of-Age Drama, “I Once Remembered That Guy”
Yang Mi (楊冪) is one of China’s most successful stars in recent years. Not only does she have many commercially successful television dramas, the 32-year-old actress is also a smart businesswoman. She founded her own production company, Jay Walk Studio, in 2013. With a keen eye for talent, Yang Mi signed many promising young stars under her company, including Dilraba Dilmurat (迪丽热巴) and Gao Weiguang (高偉光).
The success of her business ventures may be attributed to her method of grooming the young stars. To allow them ample practice and experience to improve their filming, as well as to boost morale and motivate the eager newcomers, Yang Mi often cast them in dramas where she stars as the main lead.
Jaywalk’s newest project is a new coming-of-age drama, I Once Remembered That Guy <我曾記得那男孩>. The drama revolves around the school life of a young boy and girl, and the touching and tender story of their relationship. True to nature, the main leads will be cast in-house. Newcomers, and relative unknowns, Zhu Linyu (朱林雨) is the main female lead and Daniel Zhou (周丹尼爾) is the male lead.
With Yang Mi’s history of successfully kick-starting a star’s career in the entertainment industry, it comes as no surprise that both Zhu Linyu and Zhou Daniel’s youthful good looks make them perfect for the roles.

there ought to be more young stars otherwise audiences would be seeing the same face in every drama like tvb. i don’t know why tvb don’t do shows like this to promote newcomers esp now.
