“Yanxi Palace: Princess Adventures” Drops Official Trailer
Yanxi Palace: Princess Adventures <金枝玉叶>, the official sequel and spin-off of 2018’s hit TV series Story of Yanxi Palace <延禧攻略>, has dropped its first official trailer!
Premiering December 31, 2019 on Netflix, Princess Adventures follows Princess Shaohua, the daughter of Emperor Qianlong and Wei Yingluo, who is betrothed to a Mongolian prince. While she struggles to understand her feelings for Fuk’anggan, another princess plans to break Shaohua’s betrothal to the prince so she can marry him herself.
Princess Adventures will feature the return of Wu Jinyan (吴谨言) as Wei Yingluo and Nie Yuan (聂远) as Emperor Qianlong in guest roles. In the trailer, Wu Jinyan appears in the role of Shaohua’s mother, who convinces her daughter to marry the Mongolian princess for the sake of the empire.
Rain Wang (王鹤润) stars as Princess Shaohua, Wang Yizhe (王一哲) as Fuk’anggan, Wang Yuwei (王宇威) as the Mongolian prince Lhawang Dorji, and Xu Xiaonuo (许晓诺) as Princess Siwan.

I’m a fan of the original, but that trailer looks underwhelming. If I’ve never seen the original, I would pass up on it for sure.
@anon My sentiments exactly! I will likely watch this just to see how they continue the story…luckily it’s not as long as the original Yanxi…I think when Yu Zheng first started bragging about the spinoff/sequel back after Yanxi finished airing, it was confirmed that there would only be 6 episodes total…but now that it’s going to air on Netflix, most likely they are going to stretch it out to at least double the number of episodes like they do with most of the other Asian series on there (so likely 12 episodes, which is doable, lol).
No Fuca Fuheng? Disappointing.
