YG to Take Legal Action Over Leaking of BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s Photos
Taking the world by storm, private photos of BLACKPINK’s Jennie and BTS member V were leaked by a hacker who broke into Jennie’s personal account. As increasingly intimate photos were released, YG Entertainment announced that they will be suing the hacker and taking the matter to court.
Even prior to the release of the photos, Jennie and V were caught going on vacation together, sparking dating rumors and causing a stir in the entertainment industry. Last week, a mysterious hacker released various photos of the two in front of their home, photos of them kissing, and a photo of Jennie in her bathtub.
Yesterday, YG made an official announcement that they have already contacted the police and will be taking legal action against the person who released Jennie’s photos. YG has always been upfront about supporting and backing up their artistes when needed. Due to the numerous threats, abusive messages, and verbal attacks on Jennie after the photos were released, YG decided on pursuing legal action.
“In order to make up for the loss and damage, we’ll definitely be taking the legal route and we will not back down or compromise,” YG’s statement said. As the photos were released without consent and the photos’ validity have not been confirmed, YG urged the public to stop spreading and sharing the pictures.
