Yu Zheng Comments on Zhao Lusi’s Abuse Claims
Despite her successful career, Rosy Zhao Lusi’s (趙露思) recent hospitalization brought attention to her deteriorating health. Opening up about her health struggles, Zhao Lusi published a lengthy post on her social media and confirmed being diagnosed with depression.
Dropping to only 81 pounds at one point, Zhao Lusi revealed she was abused by her former boss. The actress was forced to pay a fee before being allowed to leave the company. Zhao Lusi wrote, “After growing up, I was beaten again. At the time, I thought it was my fault for not auditioning for acting. I didn’t dare make a big deal out of it. I only wanted to escape. I am used to dealing with my own matters and not seeking help from others. Later, I began to be recognized for my roles. I am thankful for everyone’s support and for giving me the courage to finally say goodbye. It was after [she] finally took a parting fee that she stopped making a scene. The media’s continuous allegations and coverage led to a lot of nosy people coming to talk to me and gossip. Every time this happens, it adds more suffering for me. This has caused a continuous cycle of hurt.”
Although Zhao Lusi did not reveal who this “former boss” was, many suspect her former manager, Xu Yiruo (徐以若). After some digging, netizens found Xu Yiruo is good friends with producer Yu Zheng (于正), whose previous ambiguous post point to possible bullying behavior against Zhao Lusi. In the post, Yu Zheng wrote, “You are so popular that you think you can do without relationships with other people now? You are definitely too full of yourself.” Netizens deduce the post may have been related to the issues between Xu Yiruo and Zhao Lusi.
Regarding the speculations, Yu Zheng immediately responded through his social media. He wrote, “What does this have to do with me? First of all, how would I know who hit whom? When Zhao Lusi was a newcomer with no experience, I cast her first heavy role in Untouchable Lovers <鳳囚凰> without evening auditioning. Isn’t this considered a gift?”
Tagging Zhao Lusi in his post, Yu Zheng continued, “You should say something. Have I done something wrong to you? Before you became popular, I recommended you to a lot of others and gave you many praises. Why are you smearing me now?” He later also tagged Xu Yiruo and angrily expressed, “I think all those who are bad-mouthing me right now have issues. Also, if you guys are going through problems, can you not drag me into it? Ever since you debuted, I have helped and supported each and every one of you. What’s the deal with getting me involved?
