Yutaka Takenouchi Found After “Missing” for 2 Weeks
Making his debut 28 years ago, Japanese actor Yukata Takenouochi headlined many classic dramas and is still popular with his commercials regularly airing on television. The 51-year-old is elusive and difficult to reach off screen, and reportedly went “missing” for two weeks.
Originally set to star in the film version of Fuji TV drama Ichikei’s Crow: The Criminal Court Judges, Yukata was unreachable despite the project’s impending shooting date. The production crew is desperately trying to find Yukata. Executives from the television station even offered an US$8,112 dollar reward for anyone who is able to help locate him.
The actor left his former agency KEN-ON Group last year after a 26-year working relationship, and became even more elusive. Yukata’s elder sister now acts as his agent, but she has not been communicating with Fuji TV. The actor does not use social media, and none of the workers know his personal phone number.
Yutaka’s “disappearance” alarmed many, but a netizen claimed to have spotted the star filming an ad outside an office building on Monday, March 28. It is speculated that he was filming for a mobile phone app ad.
Some believe that Fuji TV sounded the alarm to locate Yutaka, as a means to coerce the actor to respond. It is said that Yutaka did not want to accept the station’s filming project.
