Zhang Ziyi Joins “Viva La Romance” Season 2

The travelogue variety show Viva La Romance <妻子的浪漫旅行> was a breakout hit of 2018, prompting the studios to release a second season ASAP.

Hosted by Taiwanese artist Matilda Tao (陶晶莹), Viva La Romance follows the traveling adventures of four women who embark on “romantic journeys” while their husbands stay in a small shed to remotely observe their wives from afar. The couples are able to see different sides of each other as their reflect on their relationships and marriages.

The first season starred Xie Na (谢娜), Cherrie Ying (應采兒), Ying Er (颖儿), and Cheng Lisha (程莉莎). Xie Na will return of the second season, with new cast members Anita Yuen (袁詠儀), Jenny Zhang (张嘉倪), and Bao Wenjing (包文婧). Recently, it was also announced that Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) has joined the cast, marking Viva La Romance as her first variety show appearing as a fixed cast member.

Their husbands will also be making an appearance of the show—respectively Jason Zhang (张杰), Chilam Cheung (張智霖), Guo Xiaodong (郭晓东), Bao Bei’er (包贝尔), and Wang Feng (汪峰). Replacing Wei Daxun (魏大勋) will be Nine Percent member Justin Huang (黄明昊) as the only male tagging along in their trip.
