Zhang Ziyi Makes First Public Appearance after Divorce Announcement
After confirming her divorce with singer Wang Feng (汪峰) on October 23, Zhang Ziyi (章子怡), 44, made her first public appearance at a promotional event. Wearing a simple white button-up shirt with a long black skirt, Zhang Ziyi appeared to be in good spirits and not at all affected by her divorce.
Since Zhang Ziyi and Wang Feng often shared family photos on social media and spoke of one another fondly in interviews, the public perceived their relationship to be a picture perfect marriage. However, fans noted Zhang Ziyi’s exhaustion in public sightings and aged appearance in dramas the past few years. In contrast, the mother-of-two appeared much more youthful and exuberant in her appearance after divorce. Fans are relieved to see Zhang Ziyi is taking her divorce well and seemingly in high spirits.
Denying their separation is due to infidelity, Zhang Ziyi further expressed the decision to divorce “was made by two grown adults.” In addition to splitting their hefty combined assets reportedly worth 3.5 billion Chinese yuan, the ex-couple will also have joint custody of their two children.
