Zhao Lusi Reaches New Agreement with Management Company

Due to the stress of being overworked and treated poorly by her management company,  Chinese actress Rosy Zhao Lusi (趙露思) was hospitalized for her deteriorating mental and physical health in December 2024 while filming Almost Lover (戀人). In addition to being physically abused, Zhao Lusi also experienced immense stress while filming the drama due to inconsistent scripts, improvisation, and long work hours.

The incident brought attention to her ongoing struggles, with the public siding with Zhao Lusi and urging for a contract termination with Galaxy Cool Entertainment. Despite the company allegedly exploiting and overworking Zhao Lusi, she would have to pay an exorbitant amount for ending her 10-year contract prematurely.

Recently, it has been reported that Zhao Lusi and Galaxy Cool Entertainment reached an agreement. While Zhao Lusi will not have to pay a penalty fee for breach of contract and will not have reshoot scenes for Almost Lover, she will also have to extend her contract to 2030. Although Almost Lover was due to resume filming last month, the new contract negotiations put completion of the drama at a standstill.

Many fans were disappointed that Zhao Lusi decided to renew her contract and urged the 26-year-old to reconsider.
