Zheng Shuang Struggles to Make Ends Meet in the US After Surrogacy Scandal
Fallen idol actress Zheng Shuang (郑爽) is currently residing in the United States after her surrogacy scandal blew up in January. Losing the custody battle of her two surrogate children to ex-boyfriend Zhang Heng (張恒) in May when she appeared in an American court, the 29-year-old actress has since disappeared from the public eye as her career and personal life crumbled.
Having remained silent since the scandal broke out, the actress finally spoke out on her social media and apologized for her actions, “The surrogacy occurred in the United States. I accept everyone’s criticism. I know surrogacy is illegal in China. I don’t have any more paths to walk on.”
Now banned from appearing on television in China, Zheng Shuang admitted that her life hit rock bottom as a result of the scandal. The actress lost all of her income sources including a 2.4 million yuan salary to appear on Meeting Mr. Right <女兒們的戀愛>. Many companies demanded compensation for financial losses caused by the scandal. However, Zheng Shuang confessed that she did not have the financial means to pay, “I am unable to compensate the dramas (A Chinese Ghost Story <倩女幽魂> and Masked <絕密者>) for losses.”
Currently residing in the United States, Zheng Shuang is struggling to make ends meet. “I tell you that I am only drinking tap water every day to survive. I only own five t-shirts and two pairs of jeans. I never bought takeout, and I called Uber to see my children. I rely on my friends’ support. I have to watch how much toilet paper I am using. I use my remaining money to buy cherries, blueberries, and toys for my children.”
The actress’ post attracted much attention before it was taken down shortly.

What a fall from grace, I wonder if she exaggerated or just didn’t save any money when she was famous.

lol, that would be karma. only happens in the made up world. rarely in the real one.
To be honest, I find her a fantasis… I dont believe she is broke at all. She is just playing the sympathy card as she knows her fans are suckers who will pay her sob story. She has not even been to court to face her debtors and Tax office. Thus the debtors can demand payments but she will just ignore them, run away and not bother to deal with it. She is one who will wait to the very end to pay anyone as she is a very greedy person. Her money is still in her account.
Dont buy into her made up story as she is a complusive liar…she lies so much she even believes in her own lies.
Her parents should be there to support her and take care of her as she has major mental issues. They are such irresponsible parents. No wonder she grew up being exactly the same.

Again, it may be true (or not) about her having limited clothing but only relying on tap water? Please, make it more believable. And didn’t she say no takeout. Does she even realize that no takeout is not about not having any food intake at all?
Anyway it is is very coincidental that she chose to post online when Kris Wu seems to have the upper hand (for now) and showing no sign of quitting showbiz.
Truly don’t understand how and why would anyone still believe she has done no wrong and all faults are in her ex partner, in the judge of the children’s custody case, in everyone else. Doubt he is innocent but that doesn’t make her an angel. How do people who do not know personally still conclude that of her?
Ehh just cuz Kris hasn’t exited ebiz, doesn’t mean he has the upper hand. DMZ’s sister went online to announce his lies with pics to prove apparently that he was lying. Regardless, his career is pretty damaged.
I have mixed feelings for ZS. I think she has mental issues. I also think she’s irresponsible. But at the same time, she is honest about her irresponsibility (if not to the public, at least to the parties she interacts with on a personal level.) Like she told her ex-hubby that she kissed an ex to see if she has any remnant feelings for him, and she is doing it out of responsibility for Zhang Heng…who would tell their spouses that? She didn’t have to reveal this, but she did. What she does need to do, though, is understand cause and consequences and how she contributed to all of them. She lacks personal accountability.
She reminds me of a rebellous spoilt teenager who just believe what she wants to believe… She is a grown woman with a teenager mental.. She cannot be left on her own, she definitely need proper guidance from responsible loved one who she will listen too. I feel sorry for her but I too feel she deserves the lesson she should learn.

Anyways the reason ZS felt so arrogant about her situation is because she was at her peak for too long. It’s good for her to experience rock bottom so she can ground herself to reality. She needs therapy.
I am sure she has some assets somewhere, like in the stocks or in property that she cannot sell yet. I think she just wants to be forgiven so she can come back out to work in China. But I doubt she is really that broke. I hope she gets a lot counselling before she gets alone time with her kids. I don’t even know whether to believe that she really wants her kids in her life or it is just a PR stunt? After all those lies and the tapes, I am just very doubtful about her.
