Zhou Jieqiong’s Debut TV Drama “Miss Truth” Ready to Air This Year
China is back with a new time traveling series, but it’s not as typical as you may think.
Produced by Youku, Miss Truth <大唐女法医> is a mystery drama set in the Tang Dynasty that follows the female forensic expert Ran Yan (Zhou Jieqiong 周洁琼), who unravels a series of new clues one by one while investigating her mother’s suicide.
Miss Truth is Zhou Jieqiong’s debut TV drama in China. She was a member of the now-disbanded K-Pop idol group IOI (formed through Produce 101) and a current member of the group Pristin, since 2016. TV drama-goers have expressed their concerns about having a K-Pop singer-turned-actress to lead a TV drama, but are also confident in Jieqiong’s visuals for the show’s time period.
The male lead is played by Toby Lee (李程彬), who plays ministry official Xiao Song. Toby Lee’s previous credits include the film Soul Mate <七月与安生> and the TV drama Operation Love <求婚大作战>. Miss Truth is Toby’s first main role.
