Chilam Cheung and Charmaine Sheh at TVB Weekly Awards
Although there are still two weeks until the 48th TVB Anniversary Awards, Chilam Cheung (張智霖) and Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) were recognized yesterday at the station’s magazine awards ceremony. Chilam and Charmaine received the Most Popular Advertising King and Queen awards respectively at the 2014 TVB Weekly Brand Awards.
Dodging the question on her commercial fees, Charmaine smiled and said, “I didn’t do any calculations but I’ve known a lot of these advertising companies for over 10 years. We’re like friends. I’ll let my manager handle everything [with regards to increasing compensation after receiving an award]. I’m happiest when I see myself on posters while I’m out shopping.”
Raymond Lam and Charmaine Sheh For TV King and Queen
Although Raymond Lam (林峯) is an audience favorite, he already admitted defeat in this year’s TV King battle. Due to work commitments in Mainland China, Raymond will not be attending the Anniversary Awards on December 15. However, Charmaine fully supported Raymond’s chances, “Maybe he’ll suddenly show up? Personally, I’m voting for him. It’s a one-vote-per-person system this year and I think it’s very fair – we’ll see who has more fans.”
Chilam was a hot favorite to win TV King last year but lost the award to Dayo Wong (黃子華), who did not attend the Anniversary Awards. Chilam commented that despite Raymond’s absence at the awards ceremony this year, this does not rule out his chances of the winning the award.
Failing to clinch TV King last year, Chilam did not hold any grudges against TVB and even expressed his desire to become an award presenter. Besides having confidence in Charmaine in winning Best Actress, Chilam also expressed his support for Raymond, Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Roger Kwok (郭晉安) and Ruco Chan (陳展鵬).

None of the actresses can challenge Charmaine this year for Best Actress. It’s a shocker if TVB let someone else win.
We wont know as since last year 2013, the voting system was transparent compares with 2012 like been rigged they dont even show out the figures. Unlike last year very transparent and fair and no rigged. Or else, 2012, raymond should already winning the BA award. Who can so stupid vote for wayne lai the confidant in 2012 and his fans can ever more than raymond? If its voting, its all about fans, not just acting skill alone. Acting skills is a very subjective matter and we cannot judge it with any benchmark. So whoever having the highest fans will be the winner. During the 90s, Andy lau had won 4-5 Hong kong most popular singer. Obviously his singing not any better than Jacky and Leon and yet Andy still getting the awards nonstop. Because andy was so popular that time with all the movies and so. So Raymond winning this award this year is well deserved with large fans base and just signed up multi-million dollar contract with EEG giant.
Andy did not win 4 out of 5 Hong Kong most popular singer awards in the ’90s. Where were you? Sorry, I have to tell you that Andy does deserve all his awards. Sorry, Leon fan. Leon did win a lot of awards too, don’t be a sour grape.
I hope this year BA goes to Raymond Lam. Roger got twice, BHWS the show watching now in Singapore I would say ok only. That year should not be given to Wayne Lai for Confident.
