Kenneth Ma Guest Stars in “Come On, Cousin”
Come On, Cousin <老表,你好hea!> promises more laughs and star appearances in the spin-off sequel to last year’s successful Inbound Troubles <老表,你好嘢>.
Designated as a TVB Anniversary series, Come On, Cousin premiered on October 20 and features original cast members, Roger Kwok (郭晉安), Joey Meng (萬綺雯), and Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍).
As the drama’s scriptwriter Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍) created cameo roles for Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Helen Tam (譚玉瑛), Hanjin Tan (陳奐仁), Erick Kwok (郭偉亮), Grace Yip (葉佩雯), and Louis Cheung’s (張繼聰) wife Kay Tse (謝安琪) to add a comedic touch to the story. Kenneth will portray “TV King Ma Ming” in the drama, discussing his perspective on acting opposite Chung King Fai (鍾景輝).
Originally only 25 episodes were planned, but because of the additional cast members, Come On, Cousin was extended to a total of 30 episodes. After Inbound Trouble’s success last year, producer Wong Wai Sing (黃偉聲) is confident that the sequel will garner excellent viewership ratings. Not worried about the controversy that the series may generate since it touches upon sensitive issues, Wong Wai Sing expressed, “The drama’s main purpose is to entertain and cause laughter, there are no hard feelings!”
Four Scenes to Watch Out For
- Eddie Kwan’s Famous Long Jump
Eddie Kwan‘s (關禮傑) famous long jump across the building in Ruse of Engagement <叛逃> caused a ripple across Hong Kong, with many laughing at how unrealistic the scene was. Parodying the scene, Cho Lam included it in the storyline for Come On, Cousin. This time, Louis will be jumping from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront to the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai.
- Law Lok Lam Dies Six Times
Veteran actor, Law Lok Lam (羅樂林) made international headlines when he died six times in six different series within 24 hours. In Come On, Cousin, Louis upsets Cho Lam’s onscreen father Bowie Wu (胡楓) while filming. Since Cho Lam owns the production company, he gets revenge by killing Louis off a total of seven times.
- Ordinary Miss Hong Kong Winners
This year’s Miss Hong Kong pageant was marked with controversies as the winners were criticized for their ordinary looks. Making fun of talent competitions, Come On, Cousin features a Hong Kong Jerk and Hong Kong Diva competition with Louis Cheung and Leanne Li (李亞男) as the winners.
- Accidental Van Scene from Gilded Chopsticks
Keen-eyed netizens spotted a van from one of the scenes in period drama, Gilded Chopsticks <食為奴>. Cho Lam reminds viewers of the mistake for laughs in Come On, Cousin. In the series, Louis is seen dressed in costume and asking Leanne how she got to the production studio so quickly. Leanne then points to the infamous white van and replies that someone dropped her off.

Why does Kenneth Mas have thjs weird smile? It’s like a baby trying and learning to smile. It looks awkward. Lol. You would think an actor will at least know how to smile. Lol.
I know what you mean, he always looks uncomfortable smiling.
