Kevin Cheng Challenges Car Racing in “Top Gear”
Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) was invited to challenge car racing in Mainland China’s variety program Top Gear <巔峰拍擋>, which is based on the British television series. Kevin was asked to complete a race course in record time. It was the first time the 45-year-old has ever raced a car, and it was an experience that Kevin would like to try again.
“It was very thrilling, and this experience is enough for me to want to take a racing lesson and do some intensive research.”
Kevin has always been a fan of the original British Top Gear series and was ecstatic when he heard that he was invited to participate in China’s version. “I’ve always enjoyed driving, but I don’t have much of an opportunity to do that when I’m in Hong Kong. This is my first time driving in a race course. Before the race, the coach only spent 15 minutes to teach us how to speed.”
He managed to overcome a few dangerous obstacles and came in fourth on the list of fastest celebrities on the show. The coach praised Kevin’s technique, remarking that it did not look like it was his first time racing.
“It’s really fun and thrilling! It’s like I’m walking on top of ice, almost slipping. Things can get unpredictable when you’re in very fast speed, but it was fun and made me want to learn more about racing.” Asked if his mother, who had denied Kevin a motorcycle license when he was younger, would allow Kevin to take racing lessons, he said, “She only didn’t want me to drive motorcycles. In car racing, you wear a helmet and are surrounded by a lot of protective gear. It’s not as dangerous.”
Kevin Clarifies Love Life
Earlier, it was rumored that Kevin was very sick, which resulted him in turning down many jobs. He clarified that he is feeling well, and his schedule is lined up until May 2015. He added that he will return to TVB to film the new drama Vampire <殭> in January 2015. “I won’t be resting and charging my batteries until July or August next year,” Kevin said.
Besides Kevin’s health condition, his love life has also been receiving attention. With Kevin recently attending Myolie Wu’s (胡杏兒) birthday party, the pair were rumored to be dating. Kevin laughed at the reports and said they are only good co-stars.
Commenting on reconciliation rumors with Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Kevin said, “She is my confidant, a very close friend. Right now, we’re getting along comfortably with each other, haha! Both of us have such high IQ, of course we can connect.”

Vampire? What vampire?
I am really curious now whether the reconciliation rumors about Kevin with Charmaine is true or not. He didnt really rejected this rumors with Charmaine. The way he responded about his rumors with Myolie, he clearly indicate he is just good co-stars only.
Yeah i am curious about the Vampire too?
Kevin never been a good actor his partner bosco is galaxies away
Kevin and Charmaine are in the process of reconciliation, that’s why there give such answers? Personal opinion
I hope so!
Taking up racing, at his age? I think it’s rather foolhardy unless it’s just taken up as a hobby and not for competing. As for the Vampire thing, Kevin and Kay Tse are doing a TVB series by that name in January, 2015. In fact, they were in the Netherlands recently to take some shots first.
Charmaine is a happy single.
personal,, i do’nt see this guy attractive at all,,,
