“Line Walker” Ending Will Depend on Audience Vote
TVB dramas received a lot of criticism for its poor endings in recent years. In some cases, alternate endings were created to please the angry viewers. The producer of Line Walker <使徒行者>, Man Wai Hung (文偉鴻), announced that the audience can vote for the ending they would like to see.
Happily Ever After or Star-Crossed Lovers?
Man Wai Hung revealed that two endings for Line Walker were filmed. While one is the happily-ever after scenario that everyone enjoys, the other one is more tragic.
In the opening scene in the first episode, Raymond Lam (林峯) and Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) were attacked by a large mob with weapons. Raymond and Charmaine’s fates will depend on whether viewers want to see the pair end up together or be forever separated. A week from now, the viewers will be given a chance to vote on which ending they would like to see.
“Line Walker” Gains Good Feedback
In its fourth week of broadcast, Line Walker averaged 29 ratings points and peaked at 33 points for the week ending September 19. Ratings increased by two points compared to the prior week.
Satisfied with Line Walker‘s reception, Michael Miu (苗僑偉) treated Samantha Ko (高海寧), Elena Kong (江美儀), and Oscar Leung (梁烈唯) to dinner. Michael said, “Each week’s episodes generate new discussion topics and the ratings have been going up. In the last few years, people rarely surround me anymore but nowadays everyone keeps asking who is the undercover cop. Of course, I won’t tell.” Michael added that he personally prefers tragic endings as they leave the audience with a more memorable impression.
Aside from regular viewers, Chow Yun Fat (周潤發) and Wong Jing (王晶) are also fans of the show and eagerly anticipate each new episode. Fat Gor asked if Michael is in fact the mole in the police force, while Wong Jing complimented Charmaine’s acting.

I hope samantha ko isn’t the last UC. Her appearance so late on in the show makes it a let down. It would be good if it was someone who has been there since the begining episodes

The ending of the series should have Benz having a five some with charmaine, sharon, samantha and toby. They take turns riding the Benz.
There were rumors saying that she is actually a UC but fell into the darkness and converted completely into a gang member. That’s why she has no intention whatsoever to find her new handler and thus, appear late in the series.

Honestly, HK producers need to grow some balls and tell the audience to bugger off. Man Wai Hung basically confirmed that he’s pretty weak as a producer by succumbing to the idiotic whims of viewers. Any producer with any integrity will trust his instinct in providing an ending that he sees fit and stand his ground. This double ending mumbo jumbo is childish and unnecessary.

For a series this havy there’s rarely ever happy endings. Honestly the director should just put whatever ending that seems fit because honestly fans of the couple would want them to end up together but it may not even be the best ending for the series.
Well seems like this only applies to Raymond and Charmaine while other characters fate will remain the same.
As long as Sharon Chan and Sammy Shum gets a good ending, I don’t care about their ending lol
He’s teasing the fans. It’s probably going to be a tragic and dramatic ending. That will generate more buzz.
Why must TVB force audiences to choose from only two choices: either happy or tragic. Why can’t there be a third choice like a bittersweet ending?

Yes perhaps. Bao Seed dies and Deng awakes to find he is not dead and then she gets shot but Bao Seed saves her in time and then they marry but marriage stopped and finally they both save the day, gets decorated as police officers and ride into the sunset for the final ending.

Oscar, it isn’t a comedy but they do instill some good laughs to lighten the mood of the series I believe. Otherwise it would be too heavy for viewers in my honest opinion. 🙂
so tvb is too lazy to think of the ending or doesn’ want to be blamed for a bad ending so they give the job to the viewers? hahah sorta lame…

I want Yan and Kobe to die. The rest I don’t care. At this point the story has gone haywire. Maybe there will be a flood in HK and Bao Seed saves Deng but falls into the water and head gets hit twice by a car’s bumper and… wait! That’s already done for SIAC!!

All along, we as viewers have been hoping that the UCs are found safe. Of course, we would typically want a good ending where all UCs survive and all black cops eliminated. Because Pao seed and Charmaine are great characters with a good heart, I hope they have a happy ending.
A good, happy and logical ending please. I don’t like tragic endings …… too sad to watch another sad TVB drama series. I don’t like open endings either.

I will say Flea will die. I will say Kobe dies (but I hope Yan joins him but don’t think he will). Michael will die. And so the only one spared will be our two star crossed lover. Foon Hei goes to jail perhaps?
That is a very sad ending if Michael Miu will die. Not surprised if Benz Hui (Foon Hei) goes to jail for the bad things he did.
No need to get Sharon Chan and Sammy Shum to die at the end.

Agree that Sharon is not much of a use in “Line Walker”, but Sammy Shum is a good undercover.
I think they’re fine individually, but their storyline together gets so mopey… I know Kobe said he would have moved on from Yan had Patrick been a good person, but he just looked as if he’d be pining after her no matter what. He should just shack up with Tavia’s character from Mysteries of Love.

I personally prefer tragic endings. Sick of TVB’s cliche happy endings, so no thanks.
What’s with the two extremes anyway? They should have gone the whole hog and offered a bittersweet ending. Ha, I think this is the first time I’ve ever rooted for Charmaine and LF.
They may go in-between. Who knows. They could be just using the polls to hype up the show and in the end give us something totally different or be like Scarlet Heart 2 and give us both endings to generate post finale hype lol

Hmmm… I’d rather see the writer (and the team) assured and confident in their own work – not all this dilly-dallying in trying to appease the audience. Sure, many of us are going to complain about not having the ending we wanted, but at least I’d like to think the team have more integrity than to change things at whim. Shouldn’t they have a clear idea of where they’re heading, anyway?

I think Charmaine and Raymond romance scene is done overboard and breach limit to become a turn off. I trust it was meant for comedy, but I had never laughed or smiled or feel entertained a single bit.

I hope we get the tragic ending. Happy endings will be too cliché and it’ll spoil all the fun. Ending a show in tears makes it more worthwhile
I would like to see both endings. This drama is quite suspenseful, comparable to ROE!
Unfortunately that Jazz director may most likely play the sad ending. Sad endings tend to be more memorable and have bigger buzz than the happy endings.
I can still remember how ROE and how that Only You drama (Elaine Yiu and Lai Lok Y.’s tragic deaths!!).
Everyone wants a happy ending here, but when TVB makes happy endings in their other dramas, the audience complain. ???

most of the tvb dramas now have open endings or sad endings, so I would definitely vote for a happy ending! The undercovers worked so hard, so deserves a happy ending.

episode 25 is good. Samantha’s acting is getting better and better. Charmaine definitely deserves a BA monition. My only critic is for someone mourning the death of her three mothers they should striped down her make-up to reflect the mood, but i guess that’s the director’s fault not hers. AND michael Mui is getting better and better with age…love him in this drama.
