Release Date of “No Reserve” Remains a Mystery
Although Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) and Myolie Wu’s (胡杏兒) Rosy Business 3: No Reserve <巾幗梟雄之諜血長天> had completed filming for more than one year, the broadcast date remains unclear due to its controversial scenes. Attending FILMART 2015, Wayne and Myolie promoted for Lord of Shanghai <梟雄> instead.
Wayne Lai Unable to Control TVB’s Decision
While it is a shame that viewers still have been unable to see No Reserve, Wayne expressed that he has not questioned TVB executives the reason for holding back the broadcast date. However, he denied that the reason was due to the male rape scene in the drama.
Respecting TVB’s decision, Myolie said, “It does feel like a shame. Wayne and I have good chemistry together and I personally like my character too. However, the ultimate decision rests with the company and I will respect their choice.”
Joey Meng and Kristal Tin On ATV Selling Classic Dramas
Failing to emerge from its financial struggles, ATV recently sold the copyrights to dozens of its classic dramas to TVB. The raised revenue would help pay outstanding wages to the station’s employees. Former ATV artiste Joey Meng (萬綺雯) believes it is a pity for ATV to resort to such desperate measures. Although attending FILMART as a TVB artiste, Joey still hopes that ATV would utilize their funds properly so ATV staff would not have to continue to worry about getting their monthly paychecks.

Looks like the HK media is a bit behind with their reporting (or they too obsessed with that male rape scene..lol). It makes sense that TVB has been holding back on airing “No Reserve” — the court case with the series’ scriptwriter Yip Kwong Yim is still ongoing, so it’s possible that from a legal perspective they are not allowed to air the series yet. Or even if they are not bound legally, from a timing perspective, it’s probably not a good idea to air until the case is over so as not to draw attention or taint the case. It’s funny that the media keeps asking everyone about the series except the people who would actually know — the execs.
Anyway, looks like TVB just tightened their stronghold on the TV industry, since they purchased the overseas broadcasting rights to many of ATV’s biggest, most popular series. Personally, I find it sad that ATV had to resort to selling their series to their competitor…and yet, they are still struggling to pay their staff’s salaries….not sure how much longer they can go on like this…
i guess november is the deathline when hk gov will decide to renew atv tv licence or not.i still hope ricky wong will buy atv, then both atv and hktv can survive.
Unfortunately to you, TVB and Fox Entertainment Group were the ones who give ATV a hand. Ricky Wong is struggling with his own problems and do nothing for ATV.
alluka what do you mean with give a hand? can you tell more about it? will they buy atv together?
Even if Ricky Wong were to buy ATV, it doesn’t guarantee HKTV/ATV a TV license. If the government is determined to put up obstacles, they will find a way to prevent HKTV/ATV’s success.
“Ricky Wong is struggling with his own problems and do nothing for ATV.”
Why would Ricky Wong give ATV a hand after their negotiations went sour because ATV refused to give up control?
Um, no – Ricky Wong already said he won’t buy ATV and I hope he sticks to that decision! Everyone knows that ATV is already beyond salvageable — no matter who buys it and what they do, it’s pretty much a lost cause, as there is no way to repair a reputation that has already been so badly tarnished. ATV is essentially on life support right now — a miserable existence but holding on for dear life in any way it can. The government should just pull the plug, let ATV die with whatever little (if any) dignity it still has left, then take away its license and reshuffle the playing field (unfortunately though, we already know this isn’t going to happen given how ‘corrupt’ the HK government is…)
They collaborate to buy copyrights of ATV series for ATV to pay the employees.
Actually, to clarify, TVB was the one who bought the rights to ATV’s series — and no, it wasn’t to pay the employees, as ATV is still struggling to pay their staff’s March salaries (ATV chairmain Yip Kar Bo was just saying yesterday that they are still trying to come up with the money and hopefully will have it by the April 1st deadline). The popular ATV series that TVB bought last week (not including the ‘ancient’ series they purchased weeks ago) were to help ATV pay their license renewal fees so their license wouldn’t get revoked (we probably can assume what TVB’s intention was there).
The Fox International thing is a whole different situation altogether and it has nothing to do with TVB or ATV (well, not yet at least). For more information on the Fox thing, you can read the article in this thread: http://afspot.net/forum/topic/805135-fox-to-boost-hong-kong-television-industry-with-us1m-per-episode-miniseries/

‘Release Date of “No Reserve”’ O___O
‘Remains a Mystery’ =___=
Come on, this is old news.
Yeah when LOL! 😀
With Myolie leading the show and portraying such a complex character…
i say its no loss to the audiences
Wtf did TVB even let this drama be filmed in the first place only to cut all the scenes out and not release it?
To be honest there really is no need for a third instalment of the Rosy Business franchise. It looks like it has the same setting as the last one.
Also I think everyone knows about this rape scene anyway so if they watch it it’s their choice, they can’t complain. It’s like watching porn and complaining about the graphic scenes – why’d you watch it in the first place?
I fail to see why it is controversial. Does it encourage rape? Does it pass rape as a good thing? – Fifty Shades of Grey’s controversy makes more sense – they tried to pass abuse and sexualism as LOVE.
The fact is people get raped (even men) but it seems that people just want to hide away from this.
