Ron Ng Admits Uncertainty in TVB Contract Renewal
With his management contract coming to an end in 2015, Ron Ng (吳卓羲) may follow the footsteps of Raymond Lam (林峯) and leave TVB. At a promotional event for Lady Sour <醋娘子> today, Ron clarified that he has yet to decide on his future plans as he is currently preoccupied with filming in Mainland China.
Recent tabloids claimed that due to Ron’s impending leave, TVB lessened his workload and gave him insignificant jobs. Ron shot down the gossip reports with a laugh, “I’m working so hard at TVB, I’m vomiting!”
Ron then stated that he has not had the time to sit down with the company to discuss future plans. He added that his priority is to be able to develop his career in both Hong Kong and Mainland China.
The actor’s last TVB award was in 2004, when he won Most Improved Actor for his performance in Twin of Brothers <大唐雙龍傳>. Asked if he feels disheartened for not being able to receive TVB awards in the last ten years, he said, “Winning awards depends on fate. What I really want is to be able to play a character I like and be able to work with good co-stars so I can learn and gain experience. Money is also not my priority.”
Rumors claim that Raymond’s success after leaving TVB pushed Ron to think about leaving as well. Ron laughed and said Raymond’s career had always been smooth. “I also agree with what he said – we are all our own individuals and no one can influence our decisions.”
Nonetheless, Ron admitted that he has been in discussions with several agencies from Mainland China as well as Hong Kong. “My friend asked about [my contract expiration], and at the time there was still over a year and a half left in my [TVB] contract. They told me to talk about it again when the time is right.”

Ron can get help Yu Zheng. If he can make Yuan Shan Shan popular with no looks and acting skills at all, he can make Ron popular too with a specific role tailor made into Ron. It’s Yu Zheng’s strength to promote a mediocre actor into stardom.

Ron is demoted by TVB I’m surprised if he renew his contract. He’s better off trying his luck in mainland or join Yu Zheng’s camp to ensure Hunan TV.
Is it that easy to join Yu Zheng ’s camp? Yu Zheng is having Chen Xiao on his hand.
Ron should leave TVB and do his best in main land to teach TVB a lesson for demoting him.

And Ray Lui as well fat and ray had a bigger market outside of tvb and then they got demoted and Andy and tony getting frozen, so Ron being demoted is good for Ron gives him the message to leave
Ron should just leave TVB, he’s only stuck in supporting roles at TVB due to his mediocre acting skills. Mainland idol dramas may suit him better.
Perhaps a per-series contract? Less work at TVB means he has time to film elsewhere. Seems like the leading fadans and siu sangs want to venture out. It’s not only about money, but some also want to broaden their horizons. Totally understanding. It’s not like they need TVB like the newbies. Now, it’s about leaving on good terms.
It’s better for Ron to go if he has to play second fiddle to even Him!
Him said that Ron has more screentime, but too bad Him is receiving more publicity with his recent news with Tavia, while Ron receives the negative end.

Wow, Poor Ron! 10 years since his last TVB award. Good thing he won awards outside of TVB over those years. TVB really does not know how to treat their good actors well, that’s why they are all leaving.

I really dont mind if Ron leaves and join LF to make 2R reunion somewhere out of TVB. Ron wont have much development within TVB, so it is time to go.
I actually don’t think that Ron is that bad of an actor and quite enjoy watching his acting performances. I just think that he hasn’t been given any good roles that he can show improvement in lately. A couple of years ago he was promoted heavily by TVB, along with Bosco Wong, Sammul Chan and Kenneth Ma. I am not sure why they have stopped promoting him as much lately and are giving him supporting roles instead of leading roles, which he was given before (eg. Revolving Doors of Vengeance, Men in Pain, The Brink of Law etc.).
TVB stopped promoting Ron because he has too many negative rumours with Viann Zhang and many other girls such as the pool pictures with Toby who was married back then. He also got ridiculed by netizens for gaining weight and losing his good looks. His acting is ok in certain roles but can be horrendous in another. He was quite annoying and mediocre in ROE but maybe he has improved. At least he’s better than Him.

Him Law looks like an idiot in period costume. He should stick to roles that can show off his muscular body. not all covered like this. I am sure Tavia will agree…haha
well..my opinion is that he can get to choose to leave TVB station even though doesn’t even care about these good and experienced actors anymore. TVB is is just keep on promoting newcomers such as Grace Chan,Sisley Choi!!!!

i personally nt really to Ron but…he might nt be the most handsome and potential actor but he is no doubt that he can act more better than other actor who Tvb is now promoting the most.Ron is nt an object for tvb to roll onto,he has the right to be looks up too.I really hope if he would has a better market that can let him shine like how he was back then,then is time to go.I support you no matter what.

With all the siu sangs leaving, I think TVB is already creating a new idol. TVB is totally making Fred the new TVB Raymond Lam. He can sing and act plus is not bad looking. Even his fan base is similar to Raymonds’ (majority female). Then after 10 yrs or so of over working Fred, he’ll just leave TVB like they are doing now.
