Selena Li on Kissing Ruco Chan in “Slow Boat Home”
With the depressed performance of recent productions in TVB, Slow Boat Home <情越海岸線> shows potential in recovering the dismal ratings on the prime time slot. In its first week of broadcast, it garnered good viewership with average ratings at 26 to 27 points.
Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Selena Li (李詩韻), Cilla Kung (樂瞳) promoted the series at a mall promotion earlier this week. They mingled with the audiences and were happily playing games competing with one another. In one of the games, Ruco and Raymond were sharing a bun together and when they were about to finish the bun they nearly kissed!
Selena, Cilla, Oceane Zhu (朱璇), Lee Yee Man (李綺雯) and Kibby Lau (劉俐) were spotted wearing either shorts or short skirts to flaunt their long slender legs, but Oceane stole the limelight with a translucent top and her bubbly personality. When playing games, Oceane put her heart in winning the games; she took off Ruco’s glasses and passed it to Kibby, causing Ruco to look fanatically for his glasses after the games.
Selena revealed that she was watching the show with her sister and domestic helper. When her kissing scene with Ruco came onscreen, she felt very embarrassed. “I immediately asked the helper to go and pour a glass of fruit juice. My sister also agreed that [the kissing scene was] very passionate.” Having acted in more than 20 dramas, Selena has only done a few kissing scenes. Is she liberal in such scenes? Selena replied, “It has to depend on who is the actor. If it’s Ruco or Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎), they take good care of their acting partners well.”
When asked if she felt embarrassed acting as a couple with her ex-boyfriend Patrick Tang (鄧健泓) in Slow Boat Home, Selena said, “The producer has asked about my feelings. As a professional actress, it doesn’t matter who is your co-star. We are not at loggerheads; we do have some chemistry and the feeling is alright.” Asked if there is any kissing scene? “No, the kissing scene with Ruco is the most passionate.”
Ratings for the drama have been promising so far. Ruco said with excitement, “We are actors and if no one watches the show, we also would not be happy.” He added that he hopes to have the opportunity to go mainland China to act.

Ruco did so good on the kissing scene..so passionate. .but as for Selena she doesn’t seem comfortable. .her kissing wasn’t passionate.

Serena Li wasn’t that pretty when she was younger. I was watching the old reruns ‘the Last Breakthrough’ and she was in it as a support cast acting as a nurse and I almost couldn’t recognise her. Her features back then weren’t that sharp. But now she is prettier.
Selena said her kissing scenes has to depend on partners. Well, both Ruco & Kevin are handsome guys. She won’t know they would take care of her until filming, right?

I do not care about kissing scenes; instead, I pay a lot of attention to Ruco and reveal that his acting is very persuaded as a doctor’s role.
Same to me. Ruco is very superb in acting professional roles, but he fits more to be a barrister with his amazing tones of speech.
does anyone know if ruco really need glasses or does he use them as a prop to make him look smarter? i think he is a good actor, he doesnt annoy me.
Talking about kissing, I think it’s not too difficult kissing (possibly passionately), a nice and handsome man as Selina pointed out. On the other hand, I wonder how the “kisser” thinks of the girls he has to kiss?
That was definitely one hot kiss between them on the couch, hehe. I usually dislike gratuitous kissing scenes just to spice up the drama or the gossip. But in the cases wherein the script calls for it and the actors do well (such as in this one), I end up loving those episodes. Very romantic! Hehe.
