Sharon Chan Competes in 18km Cycling Challenge
Last month, TVB artiste Sharon Chan (陳敏之) spent four days in Klang, Malaysia to film variety program Wellness On The Go 2 <星級健康 2>. As a part of her assignment, the 35-year-old challenged an 18-kilometer bicycle ride alongside hundreds of professionals.
Wellness On The Go 2 is a collaborative effort between TVB and Malaysia’s Astro TV station. The program aims to spread knowledge about healthy living, with each of its eight celebrity hosts in charge of presenting one of the common sports. The program is slated to air on July 20, and will star Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Oscar Leung (梁烈唯), and Nancy Wu (胡定欣), among several others.
Sharon was selected as one of the eight artistes participating in the program, introducing the sport of cycling. She first met up with a trainer to learn more about techniques and training strategies. She also interviewed several professionals cyclists to discuss their views on the sport. Since each celebrity host is responsible for completing a challenge at the end of their segments, Sharon was invited to help open the Klang Premiere Century Ride event on May 25.
To prepare for the race, Sharon spent time on a body conditioning program. Dressed in official race uniform and bike helmet, she easily blended into the crowd. Many fans gathered at the event to cheer for their idol. Although it was a tiring course, Sharon persevered and completed the challenge. She expressed satisfaction over her accomplishment and admits that the positive experience has successfully encouraged her to fall in love with the sport.
