“Singles Villa” to Premiere on Jan 4

Hunan Television’s 2015 idol drama, Singles Villa <只因單身在一起> will be premiering on January 4, 2015. Starring Joe Cheng (鄭元暢), Jiro Wang (汪東城), Viann Zhang (張馨予) and Xu Lu (徐璐), the show depicts the residents of a condominium in which true love is forbidden, and anyone who violates the rule will be evicted. At a recent press conference, the four leads shared how they would occupy their time when they were single.

Jiro brought a mask and Gundam action hero model. He said, “Many people ask me out for meals, but I don’t really like going out. I prefer occupying my time with hobbies, such as making models. I used to study art, and also love cosplay. I like to spend my time dabbling in these pursuits.”

As for Joe, he brought along a set of board games. He expressed, “Such games require a lot of thinking and strategizing. I use them to entertain myself when I’m alone. I can have a lot of fun even when I’m the only player.” He then added that he prefers spending time with girls who share the same interests as him, such as playing video games or board games.

Viann brought an item that was fairly unusual – a hat that also resembled a mask. She explained that wearing the “hat” helps her avoid being photographed when she is sleeping, “This hat gives me a sense of security, as I don’t want bad photographs of myself surfacing when I’m single. When I wear this hat, only my eyes can be seen. It’s perfect for whenever I don’t want to be photographed!”

In response to the host’s questions on her love life, Viann said humorously, “I’ve been single for so long…I wish one of you would introduce someone to me. Even in the drama, I have fewer intimate scenes with Joe than Xu Lu!”

Unexpectedly, Xu Lu brought along a taser. She explained, “This is something every single girl needs. The taser is exactly what you need when you meet a pervert!”

As it was also Xu Lu’s 20th birthday on the day of the press conference, the host surprised her with a birthday celebration. Xu Lu revealed that her birthday wish was for the show’s ratings to exceed 6 percent, and promised that if it does happen, she will go on a nude run with her co-stars.
