Synopsis of TVB’s “Eye in the Sky”
TVB crime drama Eye in the Sky <天眼>, starring Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉頴), Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), and Tavia Yeung (楊怡), will premiere on March 2, 2015. The 20-episode series is produced by Dave Fong (方駿釗) and completed filming last year. This marks Kevin and Ruco’s second collaboration together, after 2009’s Burning Flame 3<烈火雄心3>.
Originally an elite member of the Special Crime Unit in the Hong Kong Police Force, former cop Szeto Shun (Kevin Cheng) was forced to leave the force after getting implicated in an arson case. He is then hired at a security company, where he meets the intelligent Cheung Lik Hang (Ruco Chan). With their similar ways of thinking and work styles, Shun and Hang become close friends. Their superior, Kong Wui Hoi (Lau Kong), also treats them as his left and right-hand men.
Shun encounters private investigator Jenny (Tavia Yeung), who triggers a memory he had long forgotten—new evidence in the arson case that had changed Shun’s life forever.

Is Ruco’s character the main villain responsible for Kevin losing his job in the Special Crime Unit?
Yep plot changed. Worst was tavia character changed. Am digusted. From something cool to same. It seems tvb’s idea of new idea is movies based on series and lots of kissing bed scenes. To hell with good story, their way of thinking. What a waste of a good vonvept. Ruco still villain though.
Kevin and ruco battle this might be the biggest hit drama 2015
Can’t wait for this drama to air on 2 March. This Kevin-Ruco-Tavia combination is superb. Ruco finally gets co-stars who can finally act….even though I think Ruco is still the best actor among the 3 of them. He’s usually tasked with baby-sitting newbies or 2nd/3rd liners. 20 episode is a tad too short for Ruco and Kevin fans!!
if kevin gets nominated for TVB king, it would just be like last year’s LW role created for Charmaine. in any case, kevin and ruco are equally good. it’s about time they get more recognition.
Ruco is the better actor. Kevin will depend on the role suiting him and this one suits his rather serious nature. Ruco can play either role. Although Kevin did do well as the playful flirtatious one but for a short span. Ruco can flirt very well.
The makeup and editing of the poster is not doing Kevin justice. He looked better when he was dating but now looks desperado.

Agree. Kevin looks haggard in this poster. But he’s turning 46 this year, so he’s not that young. The full poster has Ruco at the bottom. And Ruco looks cool, handsome and too hot to handle. He looks really really good. 🙂
Whhhhhhaaat, the plot changed ?!? … Noooooo! Why change something that was good to begin with …or at least it was anticipated during its sales presentation, but they just had to change everything. What was the point of sales presentation then if they were going to change the entire thing around, including their characters?

Why has no mentioned that Ruco is missing from the poster!? Plus the plot sucks now since Tavia has a plain boring role compared to the more exciting assassin role- i loved her cool crazy character in A great way to care 2

Refer to the source at ihktv.com above. Ruco looks awesome. He’s hot at weibos about his killing look at this poster which originated at tbbi. Tbb tries to tune down his popularity but can’t conceal the fact that he’s important at overseas markets.
Wonder why Ruco is not treasured by TVB and the HK media? Did he do anything to offend them other than being low key?
@wp: why does TVB need to tone down Ruco’s popularity (in HK)? Ruco is super popular in overseas markets. His fan base is far and wide and varied in age. TVB is losing ground in HK and overseas markets is definitely their money spinner!!
@cocochan: Yeah…I noticed that Ruco is not particularly popular with the HK media. I wonder why too. From what I see on youtube and read on internet, he seems a really sweet, genuine and nice guy. He’s the total package I must say: great personality, good looks, great acting, talented, sporty…what else can you ask for in a guy?
@RC: What I understand is that tbb doesn’t want too hot artistes to outshine the rest, esp those who joined late. They are conservative and political,afraid that he will be fished. Also, maybe Ruco is not tbb’s favouite. But for oversea’s markets they need artistes with strong pulling power to retain tv subscribers and Ruco is definitely one of them.
Because HK media is cheap cheap cheap. They like to report bad things. He is not hot to HK media because he has nothing bad for them to report. As for the HK TVB, just compare the production quality of “Campaign of Good Actor/Actress” at year end with that of Singapore and Malaysia, again cheap cheap cheap. If not for Ruco, I would not have wasted my time that night. I fell into asleep with that dull production. I have begged that he did not attend so that I could skip the programme; but that Ruco Baby did not listen to me and he attended, so I were forced to watch that silly programme that night.
@RC, hk media doesn’t like a sincere genuine person like Ruco. They love artistes who are as fake as them, that’s why.
@choco-bunny – That’s not true. TVB loves Linda Chung, and she’s genuine, nice, and keeps out of gossips.
@wp: if what you said about TVB toning down Ruco’s popularity is true, then I feel sad for him. Ruco’s a really great actor and talented….he sings really well too. He can take on small productions with newbies/2nd or 3rd liners and still make the drama work. He is seldom cast in big productions or cast alongside big names. His biggest production to date is Captain of Destiny. Big budget production but with crappy cast. Brother’s Keeper is an anniversay drama but the cast is again so-so. He was the one that kept the audience glued to to the telly in Brother’s Keeper. He gave such an amazing performance. I think he will do well in China…that’s where the big bucks is. I know he’s popular in China..
Tbb’s successful in the past becos it followed the choice of the audience. But now they are acting the other way round. They then suffer drop in ratings and decrease in subscribers overseas. They can control the awards but can’t control the hearts of the audience. They simply ignore this theory.
Why is Ruco second fiddle to Kevin? Isnt it about time they give Ruco the entire spotlight for ince :/
He did. He got his own entire space in the poster although this one was cropped. Kevin had to share the space with Tavia but Ruco? All on his own.

Can’t wait, only problem is only 20 episodes, just too short, about time something good to look forward to, no more old custom dramas.
Kevin never has been good looking compare him to chi lam and Michael mui and especially hot Ron and Ruco Ron doesn’t have his hot sexy looks no more,,,, but Kevin does have good powerful acting skills like roger and gallen
Cannot wait to see this drama. Ready like all three actors & actress. Hopefully, it is a good story. Would like to see more Tavia and Ruco in the future

i’m happy to see kevin cheng after such a long absence from tv. furthermore, this is a modern drama.
ruco is playing an important role and not a sidekick to kevin.
