“Trade Wars” Staff Adores Grace Chan
Miss Hong Kong winner Grace Chan (陳凱琳) and first runner-up Sisley Choi (蔡思貝) were recently spotted filming for the upcoming TVB drama Trade Wars <商戰>. The business thriller, which will be Grace’s official debut drama, also stars veteran actors Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Raymond Cho (曹永廉), and Power Chan (陳國邦). The two rookie actresses displayed their diligence and professionalism on set, earning the praises of their senior costars.
Since winning both the Miss Hong Kong and Miss Chinese International crowns respectively in 2013 and 2014, Grace has been doing work nonstop. She has taken in numerous MC jobs, hired to do lucrative endorsements, and is also a favorite among TVB producers. Sources say that the 22-year-old is also very good at building networks, a skill that Sisley Choi reportedly lacks.
On Grace’s first day of shooting for Trade Wars, the first thing she did was to treat the production crew for some afternoon tea. Grace was described to have a gentle personality, but despite her demure appearance she was also very talkative and friendly. An insider said Grace took the initiative to get close to the staff members, who praised her for being hardworking and attentive. Grace would always be visiting the set even when she was not required to be there. Grace’s costars and seniors, Edwin Siu and Power Chan, were impressed with her diligence and took great care of her, readily giving her advice and support whenever she asked for them. Grace also got along with Jason Chan, who does not share many scenes with her in Trade Wars.
“I like to talk with people,” said Grace in a brief interview. “Since it’s my first time filming a drama, I am always asking for advice on how I did and what I should focus on. There are people in the series who will be portraying my family members, so I should be closer to them in real life so the acting will be more realistic!” Grace said Susanna Kwan (關菊英), Edwin Siu, and Power Chan were always giving her advice, and she thanked the seniors for putting money in her pocket.
On the other hand, Grace’s “rival” Sisley Choi struggled with committing numerous outtakes. According to a tabloid report, costar Edwin Siu reportedly got so fed up with Sisley’s slow performance that he lost his temper at her. During the filming break, the director took Sisley to the side and scolded her. The reports claimed that Sisley was jealous of Grace and often talked behind her back, causing the two former friends to give each other cold shoulder.
Grace denied having a riff with Sisley. “Of course not! We are so happy when we see each other!” Grace did admit, however, that she and Sisley have not been meeting each other as frequently as before. “Compared to the time when we were competing for Miss Hong Kong, we haven’t been meeting each other as much. But I always think of her!”

Wow Grace is pretty good in politics…lol
never had a good feeling about sisley during the miss hk competition and still don’t really like her now, think she is too aggressive
used to think that grace was sometimes too overly friendly and almost a bit fake, but have warmed up to her since her win last year. she honestly seems like just a genuinely nice person.
i actually really like the 2nd runner up, Moon Lau, sadly she’s not getting much recognition
So, Grace knows how to pay her cards.
she knows how to make her network strong and solid.
Pr working overtime. HK loves Grace, her co stars love her, the staff loves her so when the series out we as viewers everywhere should and will love her, isn’t it? Luckily she doesn’t share too many scenes with Jason. One Jason is enough, can’t bear to have 2 of them in one scene. I am not under any illusion that she will be great, etc. I just hope she doesn’t suck.
Totally agree Funn Lim. I wish they would take Jason Chan off TV. The guy is stiffer than a corpse with rigor mortis
Totally agree Funn Lim. I wish they would take Cm off Jaynestars. The guy/girl is stiffer than a corpse with rigor mortis
I am merely expressing the fact that Jason’s acting is very stiff and that he hasn’t improved, despite being in numerous shows. What is so wrong about using that phrase as a form of expression. Its not a personal attack.
You don’t need to agree with my comments yallah, but why should I be taken off the site?
grace chan is one smart girl…
my friend/student in my class in university is EXACTLY like that…. one smart girl indeed but not my style. but in reality this is what you do… business students do this all the time… network..connect…
yes, i’ve met several people like this in university, but they are the ones that are the most “fake” in a sense. they are friends with EVERYBODY. maybe this is why i wanted to study business, but i decided not to in the end. i can’t compare to them
Well she has the money so obviously she can use it to her advantage. Very good networking skills.
But I still find her friendliness a bit too fake. She’s a pretty girl but the way she carries and talks in a lot of the shows …. is a bit exaggerated.
yes! i agree! sometimes her enthusiasm is too much and her smile
yeah i also agree..
That is the vibe I get from her too. I used to have a close friend like that. She was sooo nice and friendly to the point that it was very fake. She gave good first impressions, however, after you got to know her a bit more, you found out her true colors. She made a lot of empty promises, bragged, showed off at every chance she got, etc… I wonder if Grace is like that???
I never liked Grace Chan or Sisley Choi, but I must say that Grace is a pretty good MC. She did quite well as a brand new artiste in some big events.
wow grace chan looks so pretty in that picture
i hope this tv film is success and while this tv film
is shown on tv hope that there will be a lot of ratings

I think she looks better in other photos. Her face is more bony and looks hyoid when you are young but will she faster than someone with a fuller face,
