A new wave of Hong Kongese girl bands have made their presence felt in entertainment circles recently. Hot on the heels of eight-member Lolly Talk, Cantopop group STRAYZ and 3-member Korean-inspired Me& borne from ViuTV’s survival reality show King Maker IV <造星IV >, Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) also announced plans to debut a new girl group, after the success of TWINS twenty-three years ago!

23 Years Since Last Girl Group

The 4-person girl group is set to feature Carina Li (李晞彤) and Geung Ada (姜咏鑫) of King Maker IV fame, both of whom are skilled dancers who often share their dance videos on social media.

Disappointing fans and supporters when she failed to make it past the final sixty contestants, many felt sorry for Carina, and are glad to hear that she might be part of the new group. Another confirmed member, Ada, has previously been romantically linked to popular singer Keung To (姜涛), while focused on modeling and fashion shows in recent years.

A spokesperson from Emperor Entertainment Group shared, “The company is preparing to debut a new girl group and more details will be revealed in time. This time, we will get more involved in the matter, we’ve actually been making preparations for an entire year, soft fire makes sweet malt, and we’ve been sourcing for potential new faces, and even tied up with Korean production companies to firm up our plans for the group, hoping to provide further opportunities for aspiring youth who have the potential and are keen to join the industry,”

It is said that members of the new group will be headed to South Korea for intense training, while their dance rehearsals and music videos will allegedly be handled by a top team in Korea, with the music producer being none other than Advanced, who has produced for Kwon Eun-Bi, GOT7 bambam and YooA.

Commemorating their 23rd year in showbiz, TWINS members Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍) and Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) recently posted a wefie together, thanking fans for accompanying them thus far!
